St Michael & All Angels CofE Primary School Pupils Share Flooding Update on BBC Radio Leicester

Pupils from St Michael & All Angels CE Primary School in Rearsby appeared on BBC Radio Leicester this week to share their experiences following the recent flooding of their school.

During the segment, which aired at the 7:42 mark, Year 6 students spoke about how the flooding has impacted their learning environment and daily school life. Despite the challenges, their voices reflected the resilience and optimism of the school community.

The pupils were joined by local business Qdos and local resident Elin Rosser, an Independent Usborne Partner, who have both stepped forward with generous donations and fundraising efforts to help replace damaged resources and support the school’s recovery.

"We’ve been blown away by the donations we’ve had, particularly from village businesses Qdos and Tokio Marine. The community spirit has been amazing," said Elin Rosser.

"It’s been an incredibly tough time for our school, but the support we’ve received has been nothing short of inspiring. We’re so proud of our pupils for speaking out and representing our school so well," added Neil Bardsley, Executive Headteacher.

The school continues to work toward restoring normalcy, and the support from the wider community has been a vital part of that journey.
